Toyota Shows Off Smartphone-Inspired Concept

It seems that Smartphones are all the rage these days, and nothing proves it more than the fact that Toyota is taking a few hints from them in the unveiling of the new Fun-Vii concept. The vehicle can be customized in the same fashion that the latest iOS or Android-powered device could, and it aims to capture a new, tech-savvy segment of the youth market.
This move makes perfect sense if you ask anyone at Beaman Toyota. If there's one thing that young people love, it's technology and connectivity. Therefore, it only seems reasonable that Toyota would want to infuse its lineup with that sort of imagery.
Known as the Toyota Fun-Vii, the concept is customizable, sleek, and compact; all of the traits that seem to embody a hot tech gadget these days. The exterior can be plastered with a digital wallpaper, in the same fashion as a computer's desktop, and the interior features lighting that can be set to various brightness and color settings. Meanwhile, the vehicle's infotainment system boasts a digital concierge that appears on the dashboard as a hologram.
We get it; the whole thing sounds a bit too "techie," right? Luckily, Toyota isn't planning to release the Fun-Vii in its current form. Rather, it's simply a way for the Japanese automaker to get some serious attention while showing off the features that could be present in the Toyota Matrix, Yaris, and Camry Hybrid someday down the road.
