2026 Toyota Camry Gets a Dark Makeover with Nightshade Edition
The Toyota Camry is known for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and practicality. But with the release of the Nightshade edition, it just might become known for its style too.
This striking new trim takes the popular midsize sedan and adds a healthy dose of attitude, with blacked-out accents, sleek alloy wheels, and head-turning design. Whether you’re cruising through downtown Nashville or heading out on I-65, the Camry Nightshade delivers sporty sophistication with every mile.
At Beaman Toyota in Nashville, TN, we’re excited to introduce the 2026 Camry Nightshade Edition!

First Look at 2026 Nightshade Edition
Toyota’s stunning 2026 Camry Nightshade Edition is a bold new addition to the Camry lineup. This edition takes the Camry’s already impressive aesthetics to the next level with Midnight Black Metallic exterior accents, distinctive 19-inch wheels, and gloss-black badging.
The Nightshade Edition is offered in three exterior colors:
- Ice Cap (white)
- Supersonic Red
- Midnight Black Metallic
No matter which color you choose, you’ll get a host of Midnight Black Metallic components, including the front grille, air curtains, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, rear lower sport diffuser, and rear spoiler, enhancing the Camry’s sporty, blacked-out appeal.
Joining the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE trims, the Nightshade Edition takes the Camry lineup to five distinct choices. All five Camry options are available with either Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The hybrid powertrain delivers a manufacturer-estimated combined 51 mpg rating on the LE FWD grade.
We expect the 2026 Toyota Camry to arrive at Toyota dealerships in Fall 2025. Pricing details will be announced closer to the official release date.
Hybrid Efficiency
The new Camry is equipped with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5), paired with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine. There is no gas-powered Camry for the 2026 model year.
This setup delivers 225 net combined horsepower in FWD models and 232 net combined horsepower in AWD models. Toyota engineers made sure the THS 5 provides a natural acceleration feel, synchronizing engine speed with power delivery from the lithium-ion traction battery via the electric motor generator. This design effectively minimizes excessive engine revolutions during acceleration.
An electronically controlled Continuous Variable Transmission (eCVT) complements the hybrid system, intelligently adjusting gear ratios in response to throttle input. This provides sporty and seamless power delivery with maximum fuel efficiency.
Performance & Handling
All 2026 Camry models feature a MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension. SE, Nightshade Edition, and XSE grades feature a sport-tuned suspension with specific shock absorbers and a larger front stabilizer bar, providing improved comfort, stability, handling, and driver confidence.
The Electronically Controlled Braking system (ECB) delivers ideal controllability and brake feel. You can customize every drive with three driving modes: standard NORMAL, ECO, and SPORT.
Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is available on all Camry grades, integrating with THS 5 and using an electric motor generator on the rear axle. This results in 232 net combined horsepower, a 30-horsepower increase over the previous mechanical AWD system. The AWD system delivers precise, on-demand front-rear torque distribution, improving start-off acceleration, handling, and stability, especially in slippery conditions.

Elevated Cabin Experience
The Camry’s interior delivers superior craftsmanship and modern design, with Sport grades featuring SofTex®-trimmed seats, aluminum pedals, and leather-wrapped steering. LE and XLE offer unique fabric and leather, and Dinamica® microfiber-trim. You’ll enjoy ultra-comfortable seating, with heated front seats standard on XLE/XSE and optional on LE/SE. Higher trims offer a heated steering wheel and available ventilated front seats. XLE/XSE trims include standard 8-way power-adjustable driver and passenger seats, as well as acoustic laminated glass for a quieter cabin.
For the 2026 model year, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster is standard on LE, SE, and Nightshade Edition, while XLE and XSE grades feature a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an available 10-inch Head-Up Display. The Toyota Audio Multimedia System includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen or an available 12.3-inch screen.
